What’s next for ProgressiveJobs.ca

Happy March – and thanks so much for being a part of the ProgressiveJobs.ca community over our first seven months.

In that short time, more than 2,500 job seekers have used our service, and dozens of organizations have posted progressive jobs in the labour movement, the environmental movement, at social justice organizations, and at firms that work in the progressive space.

Our goal is to be a home-base for people who want to work for movements and causes, and for movements and causes to recruit amazing talent.

To that end, we asked the community about the direction we should go, and here’s what you said:

  • 90% of you said ProgressiveJobs.ca should not share jobs at anti-choice, and-women, conservative, or similar organizations
  • 69% of you said ProgressiveJobs.ca should share political jobs at parties like the New Democrats, the Liberal Party, and the Green Party
  • 83% of you said that ProgressiveJobs.ca should require a salary with every job posting

We also asked about new features at ProgressiveJobs.ca, and here’s what you said:

  • 93% of you would like to be able to sign-up for email alerts for jobs I’m interested in
  • 79% of you would like a bi-weekly email digest of job postings
  • 76% of you said that ProgressiveJobs.ca should host a Facebook group to share all the latest job postings

And 75% of job-posters said they would like to receive job applications directly through ProgressiveJobs.ca

So what’s next?

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be working to implement some of the features that this community has prioritized.

We’ll also be looking at ways we can better market ProgressiveJobs.ca – so more progressive job-seekers and employers can take advantage of this free service.

And finally, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us a line any time – your feedback is always welcome!
